Titanium Welding

Titanium is being increasingly used in performance parts for automobiles and motorcycles. Titanium turbochargers, titanium super chargers, exhaust systems and body frames, brackets and fasteners are some applications. Many fabricators believe that titanium, used in high-end performance applications, is a difficult metal to weld. The is not true for us at DFW Fabrication Shop.

Titanium welding techniques are very similar to those used for welding nickel alloys and stainless steels. Titanium also is easier to weld than some other metallurgically more complex metals and alloys.

Welding titanium requires a higher melting point than other metals and alloys, precautions to avoid contamination during welding, and layers of shielding to prevent oxidation.

DFW Fabrication Shop routinely and skillfully welds titanium, making sound, ductile welds at rates comparable to other high-performance materials.
